Although, Sheriff Davis is just a few hours short of his Bachelor’s Degree, he does plan on finishing his work and believes education is very important to his work today and to the goal of the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Davis started his work career with the Humphrey’s Co Sheriff’s Office in 1986 as a dispatcher/jailor working both part time and full time for Sheriff Ronnie Toungette when his studies allowed the opportunity. Sheriff Davis traveled the state in the fight of illegal and controlled substances.

However due to the constant traveling and his love for his small children, David, Daniel and Eran and wife returned to employment at the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Tom Wall. Sheriff Davis again was allowed to work in the area he loved and was assigned to the Vice Narcotics Unit he also became a member of the Hostage Negotiation Team. Sheriff Davis remained in this status both teaching and in drug enforcement until elected Humphreys County Sheriff in 2006 at the age of 37. Sheriff Davis has attended many schools through out his career and not only has taught the D.A.R.E. programs but has been involved in education of many officers through the years as well. He furthermore continues in being involved with his community as volunteer coach in both youth baseball and football programs with his children and has done so for over 15yrs.

As Sheriff I am very dedicated to my job and to the people of our county. I believe in being involved with all aspects of our community. Helping our elderly, setting a good example and being involved with our youth because they are the future. I believe in keeping priorities (God, Family, Career, and then ourselves) in check. I feel these things however simple has allowed me, not only a wonderful family but a fabulous and exciting career.

~Chris Davis, Sheriff of Humphreys County
